Approached via a sweeping tree lined drive and set in the stunning, landscaped grounds of the Mount Wolseley Golf, Country Club and Spa resort, this beautifully appointed semi-detached lodge offers a unique and luxurious base for a relaxing Irish holiday. There is an elegant upstairs balcony from the master bedroom, as well as a private enclosed garden to the rear, whilst internally it is spacious, bright and finished to a very good standard throughout. The small group of holiday lodges are within a gated entrance, and this lodge is opposite a large childrens playground and tennis court, making it an ideal choice for families. The hotel offers extensive leisure facilities (some at a reduced fee) including a championship golf course, a 25 metre swimming pool, award winning spa, as well as a lounge bar and restaurant. Outside there is a 1 mile walking trail around the perimeter of the golf course where you can enjoy the wildlife or sit by the tranquil lake.
Whilst the major cities of Dublin, Kilkenny and Waterford, all reachable in 90 minutes or less, are worth a visit, there are also numerous local attractions nearby. These include The Chocolate Garden of Ireland, offering delicious tours and workshops, the Visual Contemporary Art Centre and the George Bernard Shaw Theatre. Visit the Carlow Brewing company with its fabulous craft beers, the lovely Altamont House and Gardens, and an array of historic castles, museums, forest walks, mountain hiking and river activities. Beach 29 miles. Shop ½ mile, pub and restaurant on-site.
